Above 20 KB it needs compressing. Below the minimum your form publishes, pick that exam preset instead of stretching the scan. 2. ### Sign on white paper Sign with dark ink on plain white paper, then scan or photograph it in good light so the lines stay sharp. 3. ### Upload and crop wide Upload the image and use the wide crop so the signature fills the frame without blank margins. 4. ### Pick a KB target or an exam preset 20 KB and 10 KB are upper limits for ordinary forms, not targets. On a 10-20 KB form pick the IBPS Clerk or SSC CGL preset so the published minimum is applied too. For UPSC, switch to the official triple-signature preset. 5. ### Check and download Make sure the file sits inside the limit, then download the JPG. **This is a general 20 KB cap, not an exam preset.** SSC, IBPS and UPSC have their own pixel rules. You see whether the file came out under the KB limit you picked before you download. ### Why was my signature rejected as too small or 'miniature'? SSC's signature advisory says your signature should fill at least 80% of the signature box — small (miniature) signatures are the most common reason for rejection. Sign big with a dark pen, crop close to the signature, and use the [SSC CGL preset](https://sarkaridoc.com/exams/ssc-cgl-2026/) so the size and format match the official rule. ### Why do forms say 10 to 20 KB instead of just 'under 20 KB'? Because it is a range with a minimum, not only an upper limit. The signature window [SSC CGL](https://sarkaridoc.com/exams/ssc-cgl-2026/) and [IBPS](https://sarkaridoc.com/exams/ibps-clerk/) publish is 10-20 KiB, so a file below the minimum fails the same size rule an oversized one fails. The default setting here is an upper limit only — pick the IBPS Clerk or SSC CGL preset and the published minimum is applied before you download. ### What pixel size is a 10-20 KB signature? There is no single pixel size. IBPS (PO/Clerk/RRB) publishes both: 140 x 60 px at 10-20 KiB. SSC CGL publishes the same 10-20 KiB window but states its dimensions in cm, not pixels. RSSB / RSMSSB accepts 280 x 80 up to 560 x 160 px at 20-50 KiB. UPSC asks for a 350-500 px square at 20-100 KiB. Pick your exam's preset. ### What is 6 x 2 cm in pixels for a signature? About 472 x 157 pixels at 200 DPI. SSC publishes the signature as 6.0 cm x 2.0 cm inside a 10-20 KiB window and gives no pixel figure at all — the 472 x 157 px equivalent is SarkariDoc's own conversion (cm / 2.54 x 200 DPI) for on-screen work, not an SSC rule, so do not quote it back as one. The SSC CGL preset already crops to that same 3:1 shape, so you do not have to set the pixels yourself. ### Is my signature uploaded to a server? No. Your signature stays in the browser on this page.
