Date notes

  • Current UPSC new-portal photo/signature upload instructions and upload-documents table are verified for the reusable online application flow, not one active examination notice.
  • UPSC's 28 May 2025 press note says the old One Time Registration module is no longer applicable and applicants must use the new portal at upsconline.nic.in.
  • UPSC applications can require both an uploaded passport photograph and live photograph capture. SarkariDoc prepares the uploaded file only; live capture must happen in the official portal.
  • The stale legacy OTR FAQ treated Photo-ID as PDF; current UPSC new-portal sources list Photo ID as a JPG named id_card with 20-200 KiB size.

About this exam

UPSC online applications now use the new UPSC portal with Account Creation, Universal Registration and Common Application Form modules. The current upload documents and photo/signature instructions define the photo, Photo ID image and triple-signature checks.

UPSC applicants whose passport photograph, Photo ID image or triple-signature upload is rejected for file name, file size, image quality, background, face coverage, orientation or signature layout.
