How it works
Upload the image
Add the photo or scan you need to shrink.
Pick a portal preset or keep 50KB
Keep the 50KB target for e-District-style forms, or pick your exam's official preset — IBPS and others also fix exact pixels and crop.
Compress inside both limits
The tool compresses the JPG to sit just under 50 KB. Portals like IBPS check a 20 KB minimum too — set Min KB in advanced settings and confirm the range before you download.
Download the compressed JPG
Check that the file size is inside the limit, then download and upload it on your form.
Questions
How do I compress an image to 50 KB?
Upload the image, keep the 50 KB target, crop if you want, and download the JPG. You see the final size before you download.
What is 50 KB photo size?
50 KB is a file-size limit, not a pixel size. The photo must be at most about 51,200 bytes. IBPS also asks 200 x 230 pixels at 20-50 KB. UP e-District keeps the photo at 50 KB and only asks that it stays clearly readable.
Why was my photo rejected as too small on IBPS?
IBPS checks both ends of the 20-50 KB range — a 12 KB photo fails just like a 70 KB one. Use the IBPS preset, or set Min KB to 20 in advanced settings, and confirm the file sits inside both limits before you download.
What photo does the UP e-District portal need?
The UP e-District FAQ keeps the applicant photo at 50 KB and every other supporting document at 100 KB, and requires uploads to be clearly readable. It publishes no pixel rule, so compressing to 50 KB with a close crop is the whole job.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Your photo stays in the browser on this page. Nothing is uploaded.

Sources: IBPS scanning-and-upload guidelines via each exam's SarkariDoc page; UP e-District official FAQ and SSC CGLE 2022 application instructions (official, checked 2026-08-10). Current SSC notices capture the photo live in the application module — the 20-50 KB photo rule is from older notices only. IBPS checks the 20 KB minimum as strictly as the 50 KB cap.
