PAN card signature resizer for NSDL and UTIITSL
Resize your signature for the PAN form. NSDL (Protean) crops to 2 x 4.5 cm and stays under 50 KB — use 10 KB for a DSC application. UTIITSL wants 600 DPI, under 60 KB, black and white.

How it works
Sign on white paper
Sign with black ink on plain white paper, then scan or photograph it in good light so the lines stay sharp.
Pick NSDL/Protean or UTIITSL
The NSDL preset is loaded by default (2 x 4.5 cm, up to 50 KB; use the 10 KB quick setting for DSC applications). Applying on UTIITSL? Switch presets for its 600 DPI, under-60 KB rule.
Crop to the wide frame
Crop close to the signature so it fills the 2 x 4.5 cm frame without blank margins. The required DPI is written into the JPG.
Check and download
Confirm pixels, KB limit and a real JPG, then download the file. Prepare the photo next — both files go on the same form.
Questions
What signature size does the NSDL PAN application need?
Protean lists the signature at 2 x 4.5 cm — 2 cm high and 4.5 cm wide, about 354 x 157 pixels at 200 DPI. The online eSign scanned-images upload takes a .jpg up to 50 KB; DSC-based applications take a JPEG at 200 DPI up to 10 KB. The NSDL preset here crops to that wide frame and compresses into the limit you pick.
How do I resize my PAN signature to 10 KB?
Set the Max quick setting to 10 and the tool compresses the cropped signature under 10 KB. The 10 KB limit applies to DSC-based Protean applications; the ordinary online eSign upload allows up to 50 KB, so most applicants do not need to go that small.
How do I fix the 'Signature dimension should be 2X4.5 cm' error?
The NSDL portal shows this when the signature image's proportions or DPI metadata do not match 2 x 4.5 cm. Fix: upload your signature here with the NSDL preset — the crop locks to the 2 x 4.5 cm shape (about 354 x 157 pixels) and 200 DPI is written into the JPG — then upload the downloaded file.
What is the UTIITSL PAN signature size?
UTIITSL's scanning guidelines ask for the signature scanned at 600 DPI, black and white, under 60 KB, in JPEG format. The official wording gives no cm or pixel dimension — the 400 x 200 pixel frame in the UTIITSL preset is a common tool convention, not an official rule. Sign in black ink on white paper so the scan reads as black and white.
PAN card signature resize kaise kare?
White paper par black ink se sign karo, photo ya scan lo, yahan upload karo. NSDL preset 2 x 4.5 cm ke wide frame me crop karke 50 KB (ya 10 KB quick setting) ke andar JPG bana deta hai. UTIITSL ke liye preset switch karo — 600 DPI, 60 KB se kam. File browser me hi banti hai, kahin upload nahi hoti.
Is my signature uploaded to a server?
No. Your signature stays in the browser on this page. Nothing is uploaded.
