Official notice conflicts
The notice itself disagrees; the portal decides.
6.0 x 2.0 cm — para 9.6, PDF p. 18 (repeated p. 52): “Image dimension of the signature should be about 6.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height).”
4.0 x 2.0 cm — Annexure-IV, item (b), PDF p. 71: “The image dimension of signature should be about 4.0 cm (Width) x 2.0 cm (Height).”
We apply 6.0 x 2.0 cm. Reason: The operative 'How to Apply' para 9.6 governs the upload and is repeated in the application-module instructions; Annexure-IV is a sample walkthrough.

Where each rule is written
Each file below links to the exact section of the official PDF where its rule is written.
-
Original notice listed applications 2026-05-21 to 2026-06-22 and correction 2026-06-29 to 2026-07-01. The 2026-06-23 reopen notice revised the close date to 2026-06-25 and correction to 2026-07-01 to 2026-07-03.
-
Scanned signature should be JPEG/JPG, 10-20 KiB, image dimension about 6.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height). Blurred/miniature signatures are rejected summarily.
-
Candidates must capture live photo through webcam/mobile device; poor quality, miniature, blurred or side-facing photos are rejected, and capturing a pre-existing photograph is grounds for rejection.
-
SSC's signature advisory: miniature signatures are the major rejection reason; sign within the box so the signature occupies at least 80% of it.
-
Applications submitted with Aadhaar-based authentication are not rejected on photo/signature standards grounds (CGL 2026 notice, paras 9.3 and 9.6).
-
Reopen notice dated 2026-06-23: applications 2026-06-23 23:00 to 2026-06-25 23:00; fee payment until 2026-06-26 23:00; correction window 2026-07-01 to 2026-07-03 23:00. All other terms of the 2026-05-21 notice unchanged.

Correction to the 2026-08-06 entry below: the 4.0 cm (Width) x 2.0 cm (Height) clause DOES exist in the CGL 2026 notice -- Annexure-IV, item (b), PDF p. 71 ('The image dimension of signature should be about 4.0 cm (Width) x 2.0 cm (Height)'), verified against the notice PDF with pdftotext. Para 9.6 (PDF p. 18, repeated p. 52) states 6.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height) for the same rule. Both clauses are now shown on the page; the applied value is unchanged at 6.0 cm x 2.0 cm because para 9.6 is the operative 'How to Apply' instruction, repeated in the application-module instructions, while Annexure-IV is a sample walkthrough.
The 2026-08-06 entry's claim that 4.0 cm x 2.0 cm 'does not appear in the CGL 2026 notice' was wrong -- left as written below for the historical record, corrected here.

Updated the stored application and correction dates to match SSC's 2026-06-23 reopen notice. Close date is 2026-06-25, not the original 2026-06-22. Correction window is 2026-07-01 to 2026-07-03. Signature upload rules are unchanged.
The 2026-08-06 verification pass had recorded the original notice dates. Upload rules were not re-extracted.

Corrected the signature dimension guidance to the official 6.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height) figure (3:1 aspect) from para 9.6, page 18 of the CGL 2026 notice. The spec previously used 4.0 cm x 2.0 cm (2:1), which does not appear in the CGL 2026 notice. The 10-20 KB JPEG/JPG rule is unchanged.
Application window status also updated: the CGL 2026 window (2026-05-21 to 2026-06-22, correction 2026-06-29 to 2026-07-01) is closed.

Added SSC's anti-miniature guidance (fill at least 80% of the box), the Aadhaar-authentication note, and a structured live-photo boundary.
Copy refresh from the SSC signature advisory (15-08-2024) and CGL 2026 notice paras 9.3-9.6. No dimension or size change.
