How to prepare
  1. Sign on white paper with a dark pen, keeping the signature horizontally aligned and not tilted.
  2. Follow the official annexure: cut out the signature box and sign so the signature fills at least 80% of the box before scanning.
  3. This preset follows the GD 2026 notice's 6.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height) figure; third-party sites that quote a 4.0 cm width are wrong for this exam's current notice.
  4. Blurred or miniature signatures are rejected, except for candidates who opted into Aadhaar-based biometric authentication during One-Time Registration.
  5. This page prepares only the signature file. SSC GD Constable's photograph is captured live in the SSC portal with face authentication; do not use a pre-existing photo, as the notice states that is grounds for summary rejection.

About SSC GD

SSC GD Constable is the Staff Selection Commission exam for Constable (GD) in CAPFs and SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles. The portal takes your photograph live with face authentication, so there is no photo file to upload. Prepare only the scanned signature in JPEG/JPG format.

SSC GD Constable applicants whose signature upload is rejected for file size, wrong dimensions, blur, miniature signature, or non-horizontal alignment.

    GD 2026 notice, item 21 (corroborated at para 8.7 page 10, item 11 page 29, and the application-form screenshot page 56): scanned signature in JPEG/JPG format, 10 KB to 20 KB, image dimension about 6.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height) at a resolution of 300 DPI; blurred/miniature or non-horizontally-aligned signatures are rejected.

    Official annexure image: 'Candidates are advised to cut the box and then sign within the box such that signature occupies at least 80% of the box.'

  • Para 8.4-8.5 - live photograph capture

    Notice states no pre-existing photograph is required: the Online Application Module captures a real-time photograph of the candidate, and 'in no case should the candidate capture the photograph of his/her pre-existing photograph' -- such forms are rejected summarily. No artifact is generated for this because SSC captures it live in the portal.

  • 20. Important instructions to candidates, item 4 - OTR non-Aadhaar identity documents

    Candidates who decline Aadhaar-based authentication during One-Time Registration (OTR) must upload Proof of Name (Voter ID Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Government ID Card, Government Service Identity Card, Pension Document -- six items), plus Proof of Date of Birth, Proof of Address, Photograph and Proof of Gender. The notice states no KB/pixel/format rule for any of these documents, so no artifact or resizer is built for them here.
