How it works

  1. Upload your photo

Add a recent colour photo taken against a plain white background, looking straight at the camera.

  2. Crop to the 35 x 45 mm frame

Crop so your face fills 80-85% of the locked 630 x 810 pixel frame — full head visible from top of hair to bottom of chin.

  3. Set the KB limit from your form

Keep the 50 KB default or type the exact limit your form gives. The official passport guideline itself sets no KB limit.

  4. Check and download

Confirm pixels, KB limit and a real JPG, then download the file and upload it on the form.

Questions

What is the Indian passport size photo in cm and pixels?

The printed passport-size photo is 3.5 cm wide x 4.5 cm high (35 x 45 mm) on a white background. For digital uploads, Passport Seva's official ICAO photograph guidelines ask for a colour photo at 630 x 810 pixels — the same 3.5 x 4.5 cm shape — with the face taking 80-85% of the frame. At 300 DPI print resolution the same 35 x 45 mm frame is 413 x 531 pixels. This tool outputs the official 630 x 810 px frame.

Is passport photo size 2 x 2 inch (51 x 51 mm)?

No — not for a passport application inside India through Passport Seva. The 2 x 2 inch (51 x 51 mm) square photo is the US-visa/OCI spec, and some Indian consulates abroad (e.g. for NRI renewals) do ask for it — but many photo sites wrongly list it as the standard India rule. For Passport Seva and other Indian govt forms, the standard passport-size photo is 3.5 x 4.5 cm (35 x 45 mm), portrait, white background — which is what 'passport size photo' means on those forms.

Passport size photo resize kaise kare?

Photo upload karo, chehre ko 35 x 45 mm frame me crop karo, aur JPG download karo. Frame official Passport Seva guideline ke 630 x 810 pixels par locked hai, background plain white hona chahiye, aur file aapki chuni KB limit ke andar compress hoti hai. Sab kuch browser me hota hai — photo kahin upload nahi hoti.

How many KB should a passport size photo be?

Passport Seva's official photograph guidelines set no KB limit — only 630 x 810 pixels, colour and white background. Other govt forms that ask for a passport-size photo usually keep it between 20 KB and 200 KB. This page defaults to 50 KB, the most common window; change the quick setting to match the exact limit printed on your form.

Can I use this photo for other government forms?

Yes — 35 x 45 mm is the shape most Indian govt forms mean by 'passport size photo'. But exams and portals often add their own exact pixel and KB rules (IBPS asks 200 x 230 px at 20-50 KB, for example), so when your form names an exam we cover, switch to that exam's official preset instead.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. Your photo stays in the browser on this page. Nothing is uploaded.
